Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i, R.K.Tripp grew up in Volcano Town located just three miles away from the summit of the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea. While attending Kamehameha Schools Hawai'i Campus, he won 1st place in the Hawai’i National History Day Contest for best documentary. Igniting a passion for storytelling, he went on to California State University Northridge where he worked for the Film & Television Script Library and interned for Gary Sanchez Productions & Funnyordie.com in Hollywood. After having won a department wide Television Directing contest, R.K.Tripp was chosen as one of 5 students (among 200) to intern for the pre-production department of Lionsgate Entertainment where he studied under the head of Pre-Production, Jina Jones.

After obtaining his B.A. in Cinematic and Television Arts, R.K.Tripp started a small media company called “Tripp Writes Media” which led him to become a lead marketing designer for Moss & Company, one of the largest property management companies in L.A. Although the company continues to utilize his branding and virtual tour strategies till this day, R.K. Tripp has moved back home to Hawai’i with plans to transform the Hawai’i Film Industry and create economic solutions for his island community. He and his wife, Sarah M. W. Tripp, have since founded a cold-pressed juice & super-food company called Ha Tonics. R.K. Tripp loves spending time with his two young children who inspire his continued development of film & television projects for production. R.K.Trippʻs latest endeavor is Hawaii Artist Studios, a media content company designed to empower Hawaiʻi Artists.
